FDI Trip: Advanced Manufacturing in Switzerland and Italy

Our recent FDI trip to Switzerland and Italy was packed with valuable insights and meaningful connections. Starting in Switzerland, we met with pioneering companies leading the way in fields like industrial machining and cancer diagnostics. Swiss businesses, though often smaller in size, showcase world-class innovation, and our time there opened doors for some exciting future collaborations. In Italy, we kept up the momentum, diving into a week of productive meetings and attending BIMU, a leading tradeshow for robotics and metal fabrication. Italy’s business landscape offered fresh perspectives and new opportunities, and our conversations with local partners were both inspiring and impactful.

Thank you to everyone who joined us—it’s trips like these that fuel new ideas and help us move our mission forward. Looking forward to what’s next!

TBIC FDI Trip: Advanced Manufacturing in Switzerland and Food Processing in Italy

During our recent FDI trip to Switzerland and Italy, we organized company visits, multiplier meetings, and networking activities aimed at generating new leads from the region. Our journey also included a one-day visit to the Cibus Tec food and beverage technology trade fair in Parma, Italy.

Switzerland, as the 6th largest source of European FDI in the United States, offers great business opportunities, not only regarding major corporate players but also Swiss SMEs operating in global industries like chemicals, metals, and machine engineering. Meanwhile, Italy emerged as a key player in European FDI in the U.S., with Italian investments doubling over the past decade to reach $41.1 billion in 2021. Italian investment projects in the U.S. covered a range of sectors, creating around 100,000 jobs.

Our trip provided a valuable opportunity to engage with various manufacturing industries: besides food processing companies we met companies in sectors of packaging, recycling, coating, and photovoltaics. Besides that, the TBIC had its first ever company visit in Liechtenstein, a country with 40,000 people between Switzerland and Austria. We are already excited about the next year’s promising mission to Switzerland and Italy and its potential of securing FDI for our community.
