Trade Show Visit: Space Tech Expo Europe 2025

Last week, the Transatlantic Business & Investment Council (TBIC), LP, attended Space Tech Expo Europe to meet with companies interested in exploring opportunities for U.S. market expansion.

Now in its 10th edition, Space Tech Expo Europe has become one of the most important gatherings for the European space supply chain. Nearly 1,000 exhibitors and a wide range of industry stakeholders came together to showcase advancements in manufacturing, satellite technologies, testing, components, and data-driven services.

Across conversations at the event, one theme stood out: the United States remains a critical market for growth. European companies continue to see strong demand for advanced manufacturing, satellite and communications capabilities, and data-enabled services. Many are actively evaluating when and how to establish a presence in the U.S. and what support they will need along the way.

As part of TBIC’s mission to strengthen transatlantic investment, our team met with numerous companies to discuss pathways into the U.S. market, available resources, and opportunities within our network of American communities and partners. We will continue supporting these companies as they develop their strategies and consider next steps.

TBIC Trade Show Visit: AGRITECHNICA 2025

Earlier this month, the TBIC team visited Agritechnica in Hanover, the world’s leading trade fair for agricultural machinery and equipment. We were pleased to attend the fair together with our TBIC Member Henderson Texas Economic Development Corporation, who joined us for meetings with companies exploring international expansion.

Across the exhibition halls, we met a range of innovative suppliers and equipment manufacturers, including several firms that are actively evaluating opportunities in the United States. Many see strong potential in the U.S. market due to ongoing investments in modern farming technologies, increasing adoption of automation, and a growing interest in sustainable solutions.

For TBIC members, events like Agritechnica remain a valuable platform to identify future investors early in their decision-making process. Attending with Henderson Texas provided an excellent opportunity to introduce them directly to companies preparing their next steps and to discuss how their community can support future U.S. projects.

Agritechnica once again demonstrated how dynamic and forward-looking this industry is. If you would like to learn more about how TBIC supports investment promotion, please feel free to reach out to our team.

What a day it was in Chicago! On August 26, more than 130 participants came together for the Transatlantic Business & Investment Conference 2025, making it our largest and most engaging gathering yet.

From the opening remarks by Consul General Brian Cahalane (Ireland) and Consul General Michael Ahrens (Germany), to thought-provoking insights from Jeffrey Korzenik (Fifth Third Bank) on today’s global economy, the stage was set for a full day of transatlantic exchange.

Our panels and fireside chats spanned the issues that matter most to our community:

  • Navigating the impact of tariffs and global trade shifts on FDI
  • Energy competitiveness and the balance of clean and conventional sources
  • The realities of site selection for datacenters and SMEs alike
  • Data-driven tools and workforce strategies to prepare U.S. communities for future growth

Speakers from across industry, government, and academia shared their experiences, while participants engaged in candid discussions on how to turn big-picture trends into local strategies. And, of course, the networking throughout the day proved just as valuable as the sessions themselves.

A warm thank you goes to all our sponsors, members, partners, and guests who helped make the day a success. Your engagement and contributions continue to strengthen this transatlantic network of collaboration and opportunity.

New Partnership with GIS WebTech Simplifies Property Promotion for TBIC Members

The TBIC Team is pleased to announce a new partnership with GIS WebTech, creator of the GURU platform used by many economic development organizations across the United States.

This collaboration enhances TBIC’s existing services by streamlining the way member communities promote their available sites and buildings to European companies exploring U.S. expansion.

What the partnership offers:

  • The new TBIC GURU allows member properties to be displayed in an interactive, data-rich format that is easy for international companies to navigate.
  • Current GIS WebTech clients can have their property listings automatically pulled from their existing GURU platform to the TBIC GURU, with no manual updates required.
  • TBIC members who are not yet GIS WebTech clients can still access the platform through a free login, which allows them to upload their listings manually.

All participating members receive visibility through TBIC’s outreach in Europe, as well as optional access to GIS WebTech’s tools for local branding and enhanced analytics.

This integration strengthens our goal of making U.S. communities visible and accessible to foreign direct investment. It simplifies the site search process for companies abroad while offering our members a more efficient way to present their assets.

We recently introduced the new TBIC GURU during a joint webinar with GIS WebTech. The full recording is available here.

If you are a TBIC member and would like to be featured on the TBIC GURU, or if you would like to learn more about GIS WebTech’s platform, we encourage you to reach out. This is one more way TBIC is working to support our members with practical, accessible tools for visibility.

Trade Show Visit: AGRITECHNICA

In November, TBIC travelled to Hanover, Germany, to fulfill our continuous mission of expanding our European business network and to maintain the ties to existing industry partners.
The Ag-tech sector in both Europe and the U.S. is thriving, driven by innovation and a commitment to sustainable farming practices. With a growing demand for efficient and future-oriented farming solutions, there’s a significant market opportunity for agtech companies in the United States.
As the epicenter of cutting-edge agricultural technology, AGRITECHNICA provided an outstanding opportunity to engage with key industry leaders eager to make their mark in the U.S. market and TBIC is already looking forward to attending the event again in 2025!

Trade Show Visit: SPACE TECH EXPO Europe

In November, our mission to provide a gateway for European companies to thrive in the U.S. market led us to Bremen, Germany, where TBIC attended the SPACE TECH EXPO Europe for the very first time.
The European aerospace industry is soaring to new heights, contributing significantly to global innovation. Home to industry leaders, such as Airbus and OHB Group, Bremen is a powerhouse in the European space sector and a vital player in Europe’s space endeavors. And with over 550 exhibitors from more than 40 countries, SPACE TECH EXPO is one of Europe’s most important space events.
Our visit in Bremen certainly showed: The United States remains a key destination for companies seeking global expansion, and the space tech sector is no exception.

TBIC FDI Trip: Advanced Manufacturing in Switzerland and Food Processing in Italy

TBIC FDI Trip: Advanced Manufacturing in Switzerland and Food Processing in Italy

During our recent FDI trip to Switzerland and Italy, we organized company visits, multiplier meetings, and networking activities aimed at generating new leads from the region. Our journey also included a one-day visit to the Cibus Tec food and beverage technology trade fair in Parma, Italy.

Switzerland, as the 6th largest source of European FDI in the United States, offers great business opportunities, not only regarding major corporate players but also Swiss SMEs operating in global industries like chemicals, metals, and machine engineering. Meanwhile, Italy emerged as a key player in European FDI in the U.S., with Italian investments doubling over the past decade to reach $41.1 billion in 2021. Italian investment projects in the U.S. covered a range of sectors, creating around 100,000 jobs.

Our trip provided a valuable opportunity to engage with various manufacturing industries: besides food processing companies we met companies in sectors of packaging, recycling, coating, and photovoltaics. Besides that, the TBIC had its first ever company visit in Liechtenstein, a country with 40,000 people between Switzerland and Austria. We are already excited about the next year’s promising mission to Switzerland and Italy and its potential of securing FDI for our community.
