FDI Trip: Machinery & Advanced Manufacturing in Germany

From Frankfurt to Munich, in April our Machinery & Advanced Manufacturing FDI Trip brought U.S. economic developers from Indiana, Texas, and the industrial construction sector to one of Germany’s key industrial regions. Over the course of a week, the group traveled through the Black Forest and Bavaria, meeting with Mittelstand companies in sectors such as precision machining, brake systems, and induction heating—many of them actively planning U.S. expansions. Highlights included a U.S. Roundtable with the IHK Schwaben and a visit to bauma, the world’s largest trade fair for construction machinery, where more than 3,500 exhibitors showcased the latest in industrial equipment and technology. The trip offered valuable insights into Germany’s manufacturing strength and created new connections for future transatlantic investment.
