Located in southeast Alabama along U.S. Highways 231 and 84, Dale County serves as the economic hub of the region. Its proximity to the Gulf Coast as well as markets in both Georgia and Florida make the region a prime strategic location for doing business.

The mission of the ODEC is to improve the economy of Dale County through the creation and preservation of jobs and wealth. As the lead countywide organization responsible for promoting and marketing the assets of Dale County, ODEC strives to bring in new industrial opportunities while retaining existing industries and assisting in expansion efforts.
