Matthias Beier

Matthias Beier

President & CEO, TBIC

Matt is President and CEO of the Transatlantic Business & Investment Council (TBIC) in Atlanta, GA and Berlin, Germany. Before he founded TBIC in 2016, he was in a management function of a Berlin-based boutique consultancy that supports European companies entering the international markets, with a strong focus on the United States. His previous experience of working for international projects of the German Energy Agency (dena) and the Federal Foreign Office of Germany helped him to build a strong international business network that made him find his true passion in connecting people from different industries and backgrounds worldwide. Matt holds a master degree of political science at Free University of Berlin and took part in international programs, among them University of Ljubljana in Slovenia and Harvard Business School.

Hanna Rohde

Senior Project Manager

Hanna joined the TBIC Team in 2019. As a Senior Project Manager, she is invested in creating growth opportunities across the Atlantic by supporting and facilitating sustainable relations between U.S. communities and European companies. Given her prior work experience in diplomacy, journalism, PR and politics, Hanna has extensive hands-on experience in networking and relationship management. Having lived in Washington, D.C., the Southwest of the U.S., Israel and Panama, she possesses a high level of cross-cultural competence and is closely connected to the United States. Hanna has an academic background in political science and international relations and is fluent in several languages.

Sean Witry

Sean Witry

Senior Project Manager

Originally hailing from Chicago, Sean works with TBIC as a Senior Project Manager. With educational and professional experience on both sides of the Atlantic, he offers a unique insight into the opportunities and challenges of transatlantic cooperation. He has previously worked in business development and marketing across a wide range of industries including IT and healthcare. In additional to his business acumen, his academic qualifications in international affairs have given him the strong analytical skills necessary to meet the needs of American communities and European investors.

Lena Schneider

Lena Schneider

Project Manager

Lena supports TBIC with research, project planning, marketing, membership management, and accounting. With a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Potsdam and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and British Studies from the University of Regensburg, complemented by an exchange semester at Hong Kong Baptist University, Lena brings a strong academic foundation to her role. Her dual citizenship in Germany and the UK provides a valuable cross-cultural perspective, enhancing her contributions to transatlantic exchanges. Lena’s experiences living and working in the United States further deepen her understanding of international relations. Her interdisciplinary background and passion for transatlantic affairs make her a key asset to the TBIC team in Berlin.

Jonathan Merian

Jonathan Merian

Analyst

Jonathan supports the TBIC team as a Student Assistant in the role of Analyst. With an academic background in Economics from Freie Universität Berlin and a strong interest in international economic relations, he brings analytical thinking and a broad perspective to his work.His professional journey spans various sectors, including statistical consulting, public health operations, and work with Brussels-based public affairs organisations.These diverse experiences have strengthened his adaptability, initiative, and problem-solving mindset in dynamic environments.
He recently began his Master’s degree in Public Economics in Berlin, where he further deepens his knowledge of international policy and economic governance.
